The Collection
In addition to video and print resources, the Resource
Center for Churches has a growing collection of interactive resources
designed to encourage sharing and community building. Available resources
include:
- Labyrinth - A canvas Chartres labyrinth, 30' in diameter.
Rental Fee: $15.00/week for Presbyterians, $40.00/week for Other Members,
and $100/week for Non-Members. Also available: a number of print resources
about the labyrinth.
- A Prayer Path - A kit designed to facilitate a labyrinth
experience. Includes instructions for setting up a number of "stations"
designed to help participants shed the worries of daily life and grasp
the sacred. Also includes: 6 copies of an audio guide on CD, 10 copies
of a student journal, and 1 copy each of the videos needed for two
of the stations. Rental Fee: $10.00 for Members, $15.00 for Non-Members.
- Parachute - A large rainbow colored nylon parachute with
handles. Comes with a notebook of suggested activities. Rental Fee:
$8.50/week.
- Prayer in Motion - A kit designed to help participants learn
about prayer and plan a prayer concert for their community. Includes:
a leader's guide, 6 copies of a student resource, a CD and video used
in the sessions. Rental Fee: $10.00 for Members, $15.00 for Non-Members.
- Making a Difference - A kit designed to help participants
learn about and engage in meaningful service. Rental Fee: $10.00 for
Members, $15.00 for Non-Members
- Discovering Jesus - A kit designed to help participants explore
the life of Jesus through a multi-media journey, with a particular
focus on the events of Jesus' birth. Includes: a leader's guide, 10
copies of the participant's guide, 6 copies of an audio-guide on CD,
and 1 copy each of the videos needed for two of the stations. Rental
Fee: $10.00 for Members, $15.00 for Non-Members.
- Remembering Christmas - A game puzzle to facilitate sharing
and celebrating Christmas. For 1-25 players, ages 6 and older.
- The Family Puzzle - A game puzzle for discovering and celebrating
family strengths. For 1-24 players, ages 6 and older.
- FaithTalk (Youth) - For use with youth and their parents
or with small intergenerational groups, these question cards are designed
to encourage meaningful sharing of memories, activities, specific
events, and value forming experiences of faith.
- FaithTalk with Children - Designed to provide opportunities
for parents or other adults to have meaningful conversations with
children about God’s presence and faithfulness in their lives. Questions
center around the topics of wondering, memories, actions and feelings,
and growing together.
- Can of Squirms - A role play/dialogue game of fun and discovery.
Games available for: Grade School/Intermediate Children; Junior Highs;
Youth (General and Sex Education editions); Adults; and Intergenerational
Groups.
- Tower of Babel - A set of four world community games for
youth and adults. Can accommodate three to fifty players.
We also have a few resources designed to facilitate hands-on learning
about other cultures and faith traditions. Available resources include:
- Jewish Curriculum Kit - Includes artifacts to help teach
about traditions of Judaism. Rental Fee: $6.00 for Members, $11.00
for Non-Members
- Native American Curriculum Kit - Includes artifacts to help
teach about Native American Spirituality. Rental Fee: $6.00 for Members,
$11.00 for Non-Members.
- Kwanzaa Celebration Kit - Includes items to facilitate in
celebrating Kwanzaa. Rental Fee: $6.00 for Members, $11.00 for Non-Members.
Reserving and Using
Interactive Resources
Like videos, these interactive resources should be reserved in advance
to ensure availability. Those items which do not list a rental fee may
be used free of charge unless your use involves shipping; then you will
be charged for shipping and handling.
